We’re delighted to sell miche sourdough and brioche hamburger buns from Boulangerie La Vendéene (BLV). This classic Lunenburg bakery uses natural and organic ingredients in all its baked goods, with an emphasis on ingredients produced right here in Nova Scotia. The long, slow fermentation process used by the BLV bakers breaks down the carbohydrates and gluten in the flour, which means their loaves are easier to digest and gentle on those who are sensitive to gluten. Fresh-baked early each morning and delivered every day, bread from BLV elevates any meal, no matter the time of day.

Boulangerie La Vendéene also supplies Slow Mornings with preserves from Helen B’s, a local producer of jams, pickles and relishes that take traditional Nova Scotian flavours to new heights. Our favourite is Helen B’s peach jalapeno jam, which adds a delicious sweet heat to our Steak and Egg Breakfast and signature Halifax Hottie sandwich.
